I grew up in a family of seven kids, with at least one ‘stray’ living with us at all times.
My dad was a truck driver who, in his mid-30s, with 7 mouths to feed, went back to school to become a French teacher (it was something his grandpa always wished for him to do).
I was in junior high when he became a student again, and that must have been an impressionable age – ‘cos now I’ve got this crazy idea that you can start doing exactly what you want right now.
After all, if my dad did it, what the hell is my excuse for not doing it?
My memory is shot; I de-stress by writing fiction (and more recently going on wine tours near my house).
I had $0 growing up and, in turn, now assume everything is out of my price range.
I live in Kelowna, BC with my partner Chris; we have no children but do have 4 fur babies (2 cats, Lily & Puff, and 2 dogs Grover and Honey Bear).
I adore Latin, grammar and general word-geekiness; I have an MA in communications; and I need to get past the idea that life is a race.
For nearly 2 decades, I’ve helped small businesses and ginormous companies write higher-converting web copy. I increase sign-ups / opt-ins. And I increase paid conversions & upgrades. Some of the peeps I’ve worked with go by the names of:
And numerous others
You may have seen my blog posts on KISSmetrics and Visual Website Optimizer… and voted to the top of Hacker News. Or perhaps you first saw me on AppSumo… or The Conversion Scientist’s site. Maybe you’ve even checked out my startup Airstory.co or Packs.co.
Whatever the case, I hope you take these 3 notes away from your visit here today.
