About Joanna Wiebe, master of messaging for disruptive, growth-focused businesses

In 2011, I “blew up” on Hackernews.

I’d spent the previous seven years moving through the ranks as a copywriter / content strategist at an agency, then at a huge tech company and then at the world’s #1 conversion consultancy. When some tech founders asked me to write an ebook about copywriting, I wrote four. I self-published them. Posted about it on HN. And changed my life.

Since then, I’ve worked directly with some of the biggest brands on the planet… a ton of tiny brands… and dozens of brands that went on to enjoy stellar acquisitions.

More than anything, I’ve enjoyed the many, many, almost infinite number of cool people I’ve met along the way. I’m thrilled to be invited into organizations of all sizes to help them shape their messaging and solve critical marketing problems. It’s an honor to be so trusted.

In my recharge time, I run a half-marathon every other weekend. Obsess over my cats and dogs. Go wine tasting with my husband and friends in our beautiful hometown of Kelowna, BC. And try (keyword: try) to read a book a week.

I’m currently re-learning to pray, learning Spanish, writing two more books and attempting to move at a speed that is not breakneck.
