Kevin Rogers is the founder of Copy Chief – a world-class copywriting training center and community. After generating millions for other businesses with his direct-response launch copy, he has since handed the torch over to a new generation of copywriters.
Over the past seven years, he’s helped thousands of freelancers improve their copy skills and advance their careers. Having spent more than a decade freelancing, Kevin is uniquely qualified to teach freelancers how to produce amazing work while still loving their lives.
“When you figure out how to bring your passions into your business, you might just set yourself up for the best life you could possibly imagine.”
As you continue to grow your business, there are three areas of work Kevin encourages you to respect at all times: revenue, development and motivation. Here’s how he breaks it down:
The goal for revenue is that you ultimately spend 50% of your time earning 100% of the money you need to get by.
Development is something as a copywriter you’ll always be doing anyway. You need to take courses and develop your skills. But don’t forget to measure how much time you’re actually spending developing your skills.
Motivation is what Kevin believes really leads to ultimate happiness. It’s where you play. It’s where you indulge your interests and passions. If you decide to take up a hobby like yoga or woodworking, don’t question whether you should take that class at 3 pm on Thursday because it cuts into your work. You should take that class. Because there might be a whole world of woodworking out there and you could become the first direct-response copywriter in the world of woodworking.
